Crochet Some of These Cutesy Pups!

You have seen them, Amigurumi are coming in all kinds of shapes and sizes. They are getting more and mroe popular and many crocheter have gotten into making their own versions of them, using their creativity and imagination, and enjoying their craft immensely!

Amigurumi, a kind of toy which originated in Japan (the word in Japanese means knitted or crocheted, stuffed toy), has already circled the globe and has become a favorite form of crochet for many artists of the hook.

One of the things that make them popular is that they require only basic crochet stitches, therefore, beginners can enjoy making the simpler patterns. Usually, they work up in rounds, so for most patterns, you need to know how to follow directions and work in the round without becoming confused.

Personally, I design my own Amigurumi toys (which I call Funmigurumi, because I try to make them as fun as possible to make and to own) in the "pillow" style. In other words, i make them in the square and then give them a "personality all their own and make them as lovable a bunch of little characters as you can see anywhere.

People have loved them and I'm having a great time making them.

If you are a dog lover and would like to try your hand at Amigurumi dogs, try a simple pattern to begin with, and progressively get into the more elaborate patterns. And enjoy yourself!

Your crocheted dog patterns are adorable. You should publish some of your patterns. Great job.

You're welcome! Yes, these little critters are also becoming great problem-solvers for many creative crocheters, when it comes to giving presents to little ones (just for the price of yarn!)
